On our LifeChanges With Filippo Radio Show on Dec. 27th, 2010, I mentioned how many scholars, theologians, and historians, etc., are saying that according to scripture and ancient texts, the stars, etc., that Jesus would have been born more in the Spring than in December. I mentioned that December 25th, as Jesus’ Birthday was picked for other reasons rather than the actual birthdate of Jesus.
So, I was saying, if we could collectively decide to celebrate such a significant birth in such a grand universal way on a day, seemingly, but possibly not, arbitrarily picked and choose to be “happy,” joyous, festive, on THAT day, then I argued that we can choose to be just as “happy,” joyous or festive on any given day we all collectively choose, or better yet, we personally choose.
Well, case in point, I was hoping to spend Christmas with a friend of mine who ended up being out of the Country during the Holidays. Knowing she would be coming back soon after, I left up my simple Christmas decorations.
The day my friend was to return is today. So as I was getting ready to receive her, inside my place, I was turning on the Christmas tree lights, lighting some candles, and was about to turn on some Christmas music.
Mind you, this is January, 19th, 25 days or so from “Christmas,” but the day that I have chosen to be particularly happy, joyous and festive because my friend was coming to visit and it was Christmas all over again, or maybe even more so than a month ago because I was sharing this time with my friend.
Now, I have not heard anyone wish each other a Merry Christmas or any such greeting since IMMEDIATELY after Dec. 25th. In fact, since Dec. 25th after 3 PM or so, everyone seemed to be “Christmas is over with, done, so yesterday, ore better yet, so last year.”
Here I was preparing Christmas in my place for my friend’s arrival with my window coverings drawn, since it was already dark out. And as I was getting ready to turn on some Christmas music, outside I hear, in a loud low voice, a boy yelling out, “Ho, ho, ho, Merry Christmas. HO, HO, HO, MERRY CHRISTMAS!”
Where did that come from? He had no idea what was going on just feet from where he was, and I had not shared this with any of my neighbors or friends for that matter.
One of my theories, the energy is felt and he picked up on it. Proving to me yet again, that everyday can be Christmas.
Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas, indeed, and God Bless Us, Everyone!
