“Same Issues” by Dorothy Lee Donahue

Q:   Dear Dorothy, this is Alicia from Granada Hills, California.  I took your class in Energetic Alchemy and Reiki Mastery 4 years ago.  I learned so much and my clients tell me that I am an amazing healer just like you told me I am.  My clients appreciate my insight and help with major life questions and I so love what I am doing.  

My question for you is why can’t some of my clients hear me?  There is one woman in particular who comes once a month and she has had the same question each session.  I have given her numerous suggestions as to how to solve her problem and yet she hasn’t made any progress.  She just called to make another appointment and I am not sure that I want to go over her issue again.  What do you suggest?   

A:  Hi Alicia.  It is good to hear from you and I am thrilled that you are loving your healing practice.  I could easily see that you are an amazing channel of healing energies and that you also are very tuned in to your higher guidance system and that you would make an excellent counselor.  

Many years ago, I had a client similar to what you are describing here.  She would come in every two weeks and her questions to me did not vary much at all.  After about a year of trying to figure out how to get her to move forward, I discovered that I was the one not able to hear me and that I was the one who really needed to take the advice that I was giving her.  She had come into my life with an issue that I had not resolved within my own life.  

I came to understand that she was playing a role in my life so that I could heal a part of me that was out of balance and once I came to this conclusion and applied the advice that I had been sharing with her, to my own situation, our sessions completely changed.  She began doing what I had suggested and although she continued on as a client, our time together was much more rewarding to both of us.  After experiencing this, I observed that many of our clients ask for answers that we may be unconsciously seeking for ourselves.  And now I pay close attention as to how often the same issue shows up and take a deep look at myself and see if there is something here for me to take care of in myself.

So, dear Alicia, I suggest that you take a deep look inside of you and discover if there is something in this woman’s issue that you have been carrying within you.    I really believe that we have access to life changing answers if we just ask ourselves the right questions. Another thing I do, if I come across someone’s issue that is not something I need to fix in me,  I ask them what advice they would give me if this was my question to them.  And they always come up with the right solution.  I trust that you will find the correct answer and take your own excellent advice and bring yourself into balance.  I look forward to you sharing your findings with me.
