Poem by Sandy Dee, Retired Veteran, Founder of A Pawsability 4 Veterans, “No Spoken Word Was Heard,” as read by her on The Life Changes Show Episode 815
No Spoken Word Was Heard
No spoken word was heard
The sound of silence was so loud
The ringing continues constantly in my head
The scars are all within
No one knows my story,
And many don’t really care
Stars and strips, the flag
I held so proud.
The sound of silence is so loud.
No spoken words were heard.
Barded wire seals my mouth,
Surrounds my heart,
As I stand apart.
No spoken word was heard.
The ringing in my ears,
So loud.
Lord may I get some sleep tonight
Or take my heart.
No spoken word
Was heard…
